hi guys i. have a 2020 screw. the 1-2 shift is much harder than any other shift most of the time. it seems to do this no
matter how much gas you are giving it or if it's cold or warmed up. very annoying. any suggestions ?

What drive mode are you in? The truck will typically shift 1-3-5 from a stop, not 1st to 2nd.
FordTechOne --- Normal Mode. I can confirm that I just did some more testing. light throttle flat grind it shifts 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 by the time you get to 50. Hard acceleration it does the same but holds gears longer. it does not skip gears. All shifts are relatively smooth Except for the 1-2 which is hard every time.

That is strange; maybe someone else with a 2020 can confirm if that shift pattern is normal?

Previous model years typically shift 1-3-5 on light acceleration in Normal mode, including my 2019. Did you buy new or used and any mods? It almost sounds like it may have been tuned.

I have a 2018 that does the same exact thing. Never skips second and goes into that gear fairly hard. I let off the gas to compensate - like if it were a manual shift. Told the dealer and they said "everything is normal" so . . . . :33:

The trans operation and/or tuning is the worst part of this great truck.
Some shifts too harsh, some gears held much too long.
Detracts from an otherwise great driving experience.
I am starting to think it is the reason that I feel disconnected to the truck.
By contrast, the Dodge 8-speed works great (in the cars, don't know about the trucks).

Is it worth taking it in and seeing what they can do or just try and live with it. its just very unrefined. I test drove a ram and shifting was very smooth to imperceptible. Don't like the looks or the less capableness of the ram but this seems like Ford could fix it easily if they wanted.
