I’m trying to get an exchange on the shocks sent to me because they don’t seem like they were ever rebuilt. The dampening on them changes drastically and bounces my truck all over the place. I have yet to receive anything but info as to how nitrogen shocks work. I asked for details about their quality control to ensure non-rebuilt shocks aren’t being sent out to paying customers, but haven’t received any response. This service took almost grand from me and sent me shocks that ride worse than the original shocks I sent in. This is ********.

Pretty much the same experience here except to start they just kept part of my deposit without explanation until i called then we told the extra parts just happened to add up to $250 exactly.... and when questioned if I received the correct shocks for my truck because the dampening is off, they said there all the same. Couple months later there already leaking and an email basically told me to pound sand they have no warranty. Currently they are off the truck and eventually send them to FOX to get fixed up the right way. Having been a lifelong off road racer in dirtbikes, and now UTV's Ive dealt with many suspension tuners and I can say these guys are the worst Ive ever experienced. Cant recommend the service at all.

For those that have used this program, roughly what does shipping end up looking like? Specifically I'm in Colorado, but I'm just looking for a rough idea. I'm trying to compare having mine rebuilt locally to shipping them out. They are heavy, so I'm guessing that shipping both ways is substantial.

We do our best to make everyone happy, but obviously that can't happen. We have changed our processes to ensure that an explanation and pictures are provided with each refund. And you are correct, there is no warranty implied or otherwise stated...from any shock re-builder including Fox.

For every 1 unsatisfied customer, we have 100 satisfied with our customer service and QA. We apologize that you had a bad experience and if we can make it right, please email us at [email protected].

Forged offload contacted me directly regarding another post about my degrading ride quality. They rebuilt my shocks 10k miles ago under the Werebuildshocks.com name and I was extremely happy for the first 7k miles. In short, they identified a potential unhappy customer and possible internal QA issue, and directly reached out to resolve the issue. I never insinuated that their work was in question, nor did I think it could possibly be a QA issue, but I'm impressed at their effort to stand behind their services.

If you are on the fence about having them do the work, I recommend giving them a shot. If you feel sketchy about not getting your exact shocks back, mark the bottom eyelet with a scribe, or request pictures of the rebuild process.

That being said, I'm curious to know what happened to the "we rebuild" name and any changes to their standards and practices.

And how exactly did they resolve your issue? I’m very interested to know what they did for you. My shocks are getting rebuilt again soon cuz they’ve been a problem since day one and are now dangerous to drive with. It’s very strange that all 4 of mine are failing at the same time with zero Offroad miles on them. I can understand maybe 1 or 2 having irregular issues with nitrogen but all 4 completely dead in under 10k isn’t right. My daily driver is now unsafe to drive, but have no option other than driving it slowly and avoiding any bumps in the road that I can. I’d love to hear what was done in your situation.

I just had my shocks rebuilt by a shock specialist in SoCal. The front shocks were low on oil (but were not leaking), and the internal shims were in the wrong order so the flutter stack was actually acting as a block. The rear shocks were unable to be rebuilt because this group either cross threaded the cylinders on the shocks they sent to me or put loctite on the threads. The shop broke two wrenches trying to get them apart to no avail. Now I’m forced to buy new rear shocks because of this. Completely unacceptable.
