when the oil life meeter gets down to 20%, I do it that weekend. so, around 7,500 to 8,000 miles. full synthetic Mobil 1.... I don't over think it. 5k is too short, 10 k is prolly too long

I will add....I have had 5 EB 3.5 motors with a total of almost 400,000 miles of experience on them combined. Oil arguments are so 2000.

Got a 6yr/100K warranty. It will be traded in before either of those limits....every 10k for me.

In addition, my buddy is a mechanic at a local Ford and said there is no problem changing the oil when it tells you to.

My .02.

5K miles full synthetic. I don’t drive a lot of miles so at 5K miles I’m at 7-8 months anyway. Good time for a tire rotation as well. I would probably extend the interval a little if I drove 25K miles a year on the hwy.
I drive similar. Did first one at 1,100 mi and next at 5k…full synthetic. Only an 8 mile commute each way to my office and not a lot of hwy otherwise, so 5k is what I go with, which is about every 7-8 months.

I'm usually somewhere between 5k and 7500k. I also have good friends that are engineers at Ford. The IOLM is how they run all their durability tests, so going off of that you should be good. I like to do it by the time it is down to 25 percent or so.

I drive almost 100% city. I know it's very hard on my truck. I can't imagine a car that drives highway 100% of the time would also have the same OCI... it just doesn't make sense. So I do every 5k.
