Some tuners can hide codes related to them being removed, but some codes we do not have access to.
If you don't have any codes now, you're probably fine.
If you have a tune that has the active shutters still working and then need to alter them in any way, as long as the shutter actuators are plugged in the truck thinks all is well and no tune adjustments are required.
Also, for the off chance someone wants to install an intercooler but not tune the vehicle, this method allows for no codes to populate.
