Good evening!
Just picked up my first raptor. 2019 w/ 35k miles and alllll the options. The previous owner mostly used it as a highway commuter and from what the dealer told me, all the modifications were done at a previous dealer PRIOR to the first owner buying it. I am the second owner. And this is my FIRST Raptor, insanely different than any other truck I’ve driven. Even the wife enjoys it!

As you can see:

20” Venomrex wheels and 35” Ridge Grapplers
Cobb intake (I don’t believe tune)
Borla cat-back exhaust
Baja Designs fogs, grille bar, reverse lights
Aftermarket headlights and taillights (perhaps Morimoto?)

The truck also had a DTE pedal box which the dealer made a stink about before selling it (because they didn’t know what it was) so I told them to unplug it. That said, noticed a DTE power control box tucked inside the engine bay (dealer missed that).

They refused to CPO it due to ‘exhaust and intake’. So I’ll likely buy a Flood or Zeigler warranty to ensure as much is covered as possible. Any insight is welcomed.

A few questions:

As you can see, the inner wheel wells were painted. It looks like basically flat black; not a rhino lining material. How should I touch it up, sand the chipping spots and spray over them? What product?

Also as you can see, this exhaust tip is stained and looks like it is basically changing color. Suggestions on touching this up?

As for the DTE Power Commander. I know nothing about it. Wondering if I should contact DTE or just rip the thing out. It has power to it as it has a light that flashes on it, but with the pedal box removed and unsure how it works, may be best just to remove it for reliability?

Thank you professionals and enthusiasts.

Get some husky liners they are less than 100$ and you could take those exhaust tips off and sand them and spray with a black high heat spray paint. I did my muffler in an old jeep and it held up

My truck came with the rear wheel wells painted black. After a lot of dirt roads, the black paint is pretty much gone

Oh ok. So maybe this came from Ford that way, I’m honestly not sure. Either way, they need touch up.

Welcome! That’s a beautiful Raptor with some nice mods. The wheel wells are normally the same color as the cab and bed paint. Just do the Husky liners as mentioned. They are pretty cheaply priced and go in fairly easily with some man handling. I like them on my truck. Not familiar with that piggyback tuner. Berger JB4 is a good piggyback and Cobb/Goosetuned is a good way to go for a flash tune. Or just run stock.

Enjoy it.
