I stand by my statement. The V6 is most commonly used in front wheel drive passenger cars. It is currently that way and has always been that way.

It is very rarely used both historically and today in high performance cars and trucks.

That's just reality.

And you're right, the HO EB V6 is a terrible engine for a commercial tow-truck. Lucky for me, I don't drive a tow-truck.

Funny how every Gen1 owner who upgraded to a Jenny has gushed about how much more spectacular the Taurus motor is than their old tow-truck motor. It seems Ford is on to something here.

So we agree that the EB isn't a truck motor.

And the Gen 2 guys I know will all trade their in in a heartbeat when the V8 comes back.

Can you name a car that sells more V6s than the F-150? How about a high performance truck that sells in greater numbers than the Jenny with it's Taurus motor? Waiting........

Your claims are as naive as they are ridiculous. Buyers with cash have clearly spoken and not only is the V6 a truck motor, it is the truck motor of choice for most buyers.

Can't wait to see what you have to say next. It's been a while since you posted your torque curve and bragged about your truck's torque at idle. That seems to be your fallback when you run out of excuses.

Guy, a 2006 7.0 liter LS7, with its decade plus old technology, puts out more power, weighs less, and would cost less to produce than your ecoboost.

Now imagine what Ford's new 7.3 liter could be capable of.

I understand what you're saying…….But if you read my next sentence I explain there are large displacement engines with high 500+HP, however putting one into a truck may produce undesired gas mileage. Just my take, I could be wrong.

The very light, aerodynamic with highway tires corvette gets about 16city/20hwy.

BTW…….GM must of noticed something about the TT six in a truck because their putting a 4cyl TT in the Silverado.

The F150 is currently selling a fair amount of V6 engines, sure. But this is a blip in the radar screen of history. And it will be corrected in the near term.

Other then the sound of the v8 , i miss nothing about it. I had 6.2 f150 harley . It was utterlybuseless for everyday life. As for the sound i got a borla atak , some turbo adapter , a bov and a intercooler upgrade and now i dont even miss the sound.

Also i can easily see all vehicles being electric within 40-50 years what will people do without a v8 in 50 years oh no!!

People have to evolve , i used to think the buick grand national was the greatest production car ever, after driving one this weeke end i have to say its still a great car and super fun to drive but i could not see the practicality of using one as a everyday car. Same with 7...?? V8 raptor. Nonsense argument

People have been spouting this same old nonsense since the 70s. Absolutely zero credibility to it now just as there was back then.

Ford is fully committed to the V8 and has stated so publicly. That is why they continue to devote so many R&D dollars to them.

Whether or not electric becomes the future of the automotive industry depends entirely on regulations. Both of the oil markets themselves and of emissions standards. I don't have a crystal ball so I'm not here to speculate on any of that.

But 1911s are the greatest. I have it on good authority Jesus himself carried one.

This thread is fascinating, so many people telling others what they should want in their trucks. People like v8s , peope like TT v6s. People will buy what they want to buy. Which means both will sell for years to come. Dodge used a supercharger on the Demon despite knowing turbos would be better performance wise. They did it because they knew customers wanted a supercharged engine.

I like v8 engines. I also like my gen2 HP and torque numbers. Thankfully we dont live in a socialist "paradise" so customers can choose what they want. And until someone starts paying for my truck, I'm gonna keep making my own decisions.
