So I got a set of Deaver +2 from @Viccern I since they were used and he was having a popping noise in reverse I thought it would be best to break them down make sure there was nothing funny going on. All the leafs looked good. Who ever paints these at Deaver MUST be in "A" second grade or "B" related to the owner and can't be fired. LOL I used a wire wheel on a 5" grinder cleaned all the rust and Painted them with POR 15 since they will not see sun I didn't top coat them.

Just some Light rust.

I think I would recommend doing this before you install a set. I am not sure of there build process. There was no paint between the shim and the spring almost like they assemble them..... Then try to paint them???? IDK what ever they doing they could do it better. LOL
i had mine blasted and powdercoated before installation, and you know what? they are pretty rusty 4 years later.

im not sure what the answer is, i guess the springs rubbing together, and add in sand, mud and road salt and they will rust again..

i did the POR15 on my last set and I think the powdercoat has held up much better

Interesting..... I have never seen POR 15 fail. Now can't wait to see how it preforms. I have used it on a lot of stuff.
It is still on the backhoe bucket I did over 20 years ago. I also painted an S10 with it LOL Farm Truck.
