Took delivery of my avalanche pheasant 35 Raptor after waiting about 8 months and have loved it. Everything I thought it would be and only have about 350 miles on her so far.

Was getting my windows tinted and chatting with my guy while walking around the vehicle and noticed what appear to be 2 almost identical circular rust spots on one side of the frame (driver side).

Seems odd and I don’t know if there’s anything I can really do about it other than have it treated (hopefully by Ford)?

Curious if anyone has any ideas what these could be from?

Pics below (took pics of both driver and passenger side so you can see there’s no marking on passenger side):

That’s fine just a little surface rust you’ll get a lot more.
I’ve read all about the surface rust of the F-150s and understand what I’m getting into.

This seemed much more of an acute situation on only one side that look very circular in shape.

Just curious if anyone had any insight.

It does not look too serious at this point, It almost looks like something hit those areas maybe during transport. maybe the contact opened the painted surface to water or snow. Seems like an easy fix, either have the dealer do it or consider treating it yourself.

Fortunately for you, it is not on the frame, but on a component of the rear suspension. Treat it with anti rust paint or ask for that piece to be replaced.

I had similar spots just smaller and more uniform. All the above is perfect, I hit it with a wire brush first, then sprayed on the Rustoleum. I think it was their ‘rust reformer’ spray or something like that. You can’t even tell anything was there anymore. Easy Saturday project too!
