Sucks... not victim blaming by any means, but if I am going to leave my dogs in the truck for a moment with it running, I lock the doors using the keypad by hitting the bottom two buttons simultaneously. At least if you do this, they can't just walk up and open the door without having to break a window or jimmy the door in some manner. Without the key in the truck, they also wouldn't be able to put it in drive.

Sorry to hear a low life would steal your truck & your dog. A lot of crimes are simply crimes of opportunity, if we make it easy or tempt someone without a moral compass, they will jump on the opportunity. I'm not sure what led to your specific theft, but leaving the door unlocked with key in it should be a lesson for all. Hopefully you activated FordPass on your phone and can track where this SOB went with your truck... Good Luck!
