I heard the aluminum panels and so on was a 700 pound reduction . I could see a V6 ecoboost being put in the ad and them thinking it would be another 700 pound difference but. like everybody says, it needs a V8. A EcoBoosted 5.0 Twin Turbo V8 would ring a sweet sound in my opinion, with a little more travel . I need a damn good reason to get rid of this Cts-V Coupe the wife is driving and add another Raptor to the Garage =)

Man, this again? How many engine speculation threads do we need?

I say we make a giant rumor thread and just call it something like, "2015 Super turbo jetted, six door, solid gold, 1000 pound Raptor to have deployable bat wings and exclusive 007 submersible mode!"

Even the 700lb reduction thing is a bit of a farce. The fine print says 'upto' 700 lbs in savings. And wasn't it doing the weight comparison between a fully loaded V-8 super crew and base model ecoboosted scab, or something like that? Well duh! Course it's lighter!

With zero emissions and 65 MPG!

Ford will also release special interest rates or rebates they day the bat winger rolls out.

If the truck body was sculpted out of carbon fiber it might weigh that much. If it shaves that much weight, I bet someone here will be doing a body swap. **** that TTV6. TT5.0 would be badass though. From only one rumor that I heard at a Raptor get together, the truck will be TT and about 500hp. Just a rumor. No source nor evidence to say that it is or isn't true. But does anyone else get the feeling that the value of all the first Raptors will go up, or is it just me?

I heard a rumor that the new Raptor will have a flux capacitor that will activate like an air bag and jump you back in time a couple of minutes in case of a bad jump.

I mean, since we are sharing rumors...

I think they are going to turbo the 5.0 making an Ecoboost coyote engine. Would be a V8 and give great HP and Torque.

There's no ******* way they're going to shave 1400 -1500 lbs. which brings into question the credibility of the source. That site is known for propagating garbage to serve as click bait anyway.

And I'm all but certain the EB will be an option at best. The Raptor needs a V8 to realize our vision of what a Raptor should be.

I wouldn't want an off-road vehicle that light, anyways. Isn't the idea behind the 6,000lb trophy trucks is that they're so heavy they just pound through shit? Hell, some of the stuff I've hit has been jarring enough that if I had a truck that light I'm sure the truck would've lost control.

2 engines
The ecoboost inline 4 from the focus/fiesta
That pumps out 250+ horses per engine

Now that would be funny

Also trow in a hybrid system while we are at it
And a roalling-coal system

That we have probably all sections of the market :)

A light truck would be great. 4500lbs on 12" of travel would be like having 6000lbs with 18" of travel. Weight is a huge deal. Every time you jump the raptor you feel the weight no matter what shocks you have.
