Same thing happened to me at Costco. I had to bring them my T45 Torx bit to remove the beads. They said it wouldn't fit their equipment with them on. They did a good job after getting the tool.

That’s why they are called bead lock! They lock on to the tire bead while it is aired down so you don’t break the bead while you’re off-roading. You need to remove the bead lock rim to replace the tires.

I have a 2019 with bead lock capable wheels. I ran over a knife blade this weekend and need a new tire. I’m at discount tire and they can’t seem to get the tire off the wheel. Anybody know if the beauty ring needs to be removed prior to tire removal? I would’ve hoped that they knew the answer to this question, but they are clearly struggling. I’m a little bit afraid to look at my wheel when they are done with it.

Keeping it dirty channel on YouTube has a video on it. As others have said most people take it off on their own as shops are built to get you out fast. I got suckered into a extra protection but paid off when I blew a tire and got side wall damage in another. 1600 buck invoice for new rim and two tires but paid nothing other than 2k for the protection so almost paid for itself. But I digress here is the video I mentioned below.

I had my tires rotated at discount tire and they didn’t remove the trim ring. Their machines scratched the hell out of the ring. They replaced it and no charge and were cool about it.

Bringing up an old thread... I'm at a tire shop right now because I'm having a nail removed. They told me they needed to take the beauty ring off to get the tire off the wheel. I'm ok with that but wish I would have thought about it before I dropped the truck off. I'm assuming they've already scratched up some 2019 wheels and are just being cautious. When I replace all 4 tires, I'll take the rings off at home!

Are there any issues driving without the beauty ring?
