After riding in several Jeeps (owned by others) one the last 20 plus years, I'm not a fan. Their quality is low...as in REAL LOW. My friends Rich and Deanna had the drivers door of their Grand Cherokee fall off. Jeep=junk.[/

What he said..!!! I rented a 4 dr Jeep for 2 weeks while in Hawaii.....OMG..WORST riding vehicle ever..!! And was amazed,there were NO Window Controls in the back for the back windows....I dont know if it was just on the "Rentals",but the back window controls were in the center of the front dash....so every 5 minutes (lots of rain-sun-wind-rain) person in back had to reach forward or ask for his window to be put up or down....we finally stopped and got a stick that reached,and anyone in the back got the stick to work the windows...Piece of CRAP for sure...and for 2 weeks all I kept saying was.."People actually buy these"..!QUOTE]

Well my wife just bought a fully loaded Jeep gladiator overland package and had the 2”mopar lift installed as well. I have a 18 screw raptor, although the gladiator is a really fun vehicle to own, you may be greatly disappointed when you drive it after now being used to your raptor. If performance is what turns your crank, the gladiator won’t cut it. If just cruising around town is what you do than both are great vehicles and loads of fun. It’s impossible to beat a raptor once you’ve had that between your legs! Lol

Jeep = junk

Owned just one, never again.

My wife wanted one even before she started driving...we had a 2016 JKUR, it was garbage and I hated it. It only crawled marginally better than my truck, even with a 2" lift. It rode worse than my dad's 89 Bronco 2, and was about as loud on the inside (more, probably?). Less room for sure. I was so glad to get rid of it, and even my wife says she'd never get another one as a daily.

That said, the Trailhawk Cherokees and Grand Cherokees are pretty nice, I'd probably go for one of those if the wife was more interested in another offroad vehicle.

The gladiator is laughable. Got annihilated by the Zr2 in an offroad comparison, no surprise. Does have slightly more tech than a Zr2, and better tow/haul, but the fact the Zr2 crawls better is as hilarious as it was expected. Plus the Zr2 can actually do high speed too...

I think it is telling that when the JL first came out, the high point about the ride was that it finally compared to lower-end SUVs from a few years ago.

I had two jeeps back in the day, an 02 and 05. both were good, but I don't think I can respond to this thread in fairness with the new one IE plastic princesses and all. My 05 I had... nothing was stock on her all the way to the axles. I just saw a gladiator at the dealership as I drove home from work today, and In my own opinion, she looks pieced together, truck/jeep....and they are way over priced but whatever you go with is your decision so good luck!
