Cobb will ship to CA. They offer 15% discount for veterans if you have that option. Helps cut down on the sales tax. And i believe the backorder is due to the intercoolers. Took my intercooler about 5 days to ship from order date and then another 3 days to arrive. Can’t wait to get that bad buy installed.......

Good looking out. I didnt know Cobb gave veterans or military a discount. Good have used it while i was enlisted active duty making less than minimum wage!!

Had the update done. Trans shifted good for about 400 miles, but now it’s right back to the same ****** harsh shifting in sport mode.

I have learned (no pun intended) that the transmission learns your behavior. That means if you use sport mode only when gunning it (like I did) then the shifting will get harder and stay rough. If you (for a few days) also use sport in city/casual drive, you’ll find it easing off on the harshness of the shifts. Don’t get me wrong, sport shifting is always faster/harder than the regular mode but it will adapt!

Of course... the disclaimer; this is my experience. Yours might be different.



18 SCrew Magnetic, Roush CAI. Whipple tuned. SPD adapters, Kooks Green catted down pipes. Kooks mid pipes w/ resonator. HF & VHF Connected.

If you (for a few days) also use sport in city/casual drive, you’ll find it easing off on the harshness of the shifts. Don’t get me wrong, sport shifting is always faster/harder than the regular mode but it will adapt!

I agree. I’ve been running normal mode with Cobb AC and it feels like it’s getting lazy.

This was the third attempt at this transmission. Good thing is I know the service manager at my dealer, who also owns a raptor, so he is great to deal with. We tested resetting the trans and updating it 3 different ways. Twice after the reset I drove it for about 400 miles each, and once he actually had the truck and drove it for 300 miles. Each time after the reset the truck was driven completely different. The first time I drove in sport mode like I stole it. The second time was in sport mode also, but I was gentle with the truck. Trying to stay out of boost as much as I could. Both times the trans ended up right back where it is now. Shifting like shit in sport mode. Lol. But this was over the course of 4 months or so.

I’m hoping Cobb’s trans tune helps the shifting issue with these trucks while in sport mode.
