I know some of you 2017 guys are coming from Prius's, Chevy Volts and stuff like that but sorry to break it to you but this is still performance oriented truck and it won't even be close to breaking 20 mpg's on the highway.

My wife's Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 v8 all wheel drive gets 16mpg on the highway and 12 in town. If I get that or slightly better in a big heavy ass truck with a shit load of power I will be more than happy.

I think the 10 speed will get better mpg. My 5.0 F150 gets 21 mpg hwy and 19.5 combined so far. That with me having some fun at the stop lights too. I just wonder how torturous the downshifts will be to pass in the 10 speed. I'm already having flashbacks to my 2010 Raptor with the 5.4

Offroad, I don't care what MPG I get. I basically write that off as being included to have fun. I get around 11 or less. On road though.. I have good road manners, and I still only get 12.3 MPG.. ****.

With the new Raptor, I think it's safe to say 13-14 city, 17-20 highway, and 16-18 combined.

That's crazy. I don't drive like a grandma, and have an average of 13.6 over the last 8k miles. That's including offroading, towing etc.

Usually I get around 14.0-14.2, but that's due to highway mileage but at 80+mph

I could see 20 on highway, via the EPA testing method, but I would say getting 18 would be real world.

Just so you are aware, those numbers are from my '14 Super Duty that has an 8 inch lift and 37" Toyo M/T's on it. Not a Raptor. Which may explain a bit. I know it's a diesel motor, but when I initially got my truck, I was getting 20-22 on the highway before I went crazy and lifted it. And that's out of an 8,400 lb truck.. So, I am optimistic about the Raptor.

Agreed. My '13 6.7L Ford Diesel got great mileage right off the lot. I added a Bully Dog tuner that same week and squeaked out another 1 - 1.5 mpg. On the highway, empty, got around 22. But the diesels are a completely different power plant, and the turbos are much bigger. And the trans is way different. It would be almost impossible, in this case, to compare that power plant with this one. The displacement is just way too different. I'm sticking with my original feelings and think that at 60 - 65 mph, the Gen 2's are gonna get the best mpg.....
