That's crazy. I don't drive like a grandma, and have an average of 13.6 over the last 8k miles. That's including offroading, towing etc.

Usually I get around 14.0-14.2, but that's due to highway mileage but at 80+mph

I drive 2,500 miles per month - mostly freeway - I get 12.0 - 13.0 on freeway duty - no traffic get 12 (going faster), more traffic close in on 13.0 (70 +/- Avg.). Overall I average between 11.8 and 12.8 per tank, with an occasional 13.0 - never seen 14.0.

Last night I drove 75 mph for 38 miles (freeway) on cruise control and got 13.2 mpg.

Towing my boat (7,000 lbs loaded) I get 9-10.0

Towing enclosed Trailer (9,000 lbs) I got 7.7 mpg

All 14 SCREW 6.2.

Towing always involves some hills.

In my brothers 2013 Eco Boost I get about 2 mpg better at 70 - 80 speeds. Above 80 the Eco boost drops into the low 12 range as well. Towed my boat with the Eco Boost - got 8.9 - so worse than the 6.2L on the same tow loop (OC to Lake Havasu).

So my bet is the 10 speed transmission helps and at reasonable speeds (below 75 mph) the new Eco Boost performs very well. But if you go faster or hook up a trailer - I would expect maybe 10% better mileage, at best.

Never get less than 15.5 to 16 on the highway. Up to 19-20 in mountains. SCAB magic :)

Based on the gas gauge reading in one of the Ford utube promo's (interior walk through) and the trip meter saying 219 miles to empty, I calculated about 15.5 MPG. Hmm

That's in a truck that idles a lot and people ask Mike to constantly rev.
