The problem definitely exists, and it definitely has been a thorn in the butt to Ford and Raptor end users.

More accurately, it's only been a thorn in the butt to Gen 2 Raptor owners.

No thorns in my butt, and I'm pretty sure the Gen 3 guys have no engine rattle thorns in their butt either.

To the OP, I wish you good luck dealing with Ford, but get ready to pay out of pocket. Ford is not going to keep covering these repairs on out-of-warranty trucks forever. We are at that point now. They have been covering 50% for a while, now you are seeing the 50% become difficult to get.

Ford just covered mine under the emissions warranty. 2018 53k ish miles. But I had them do the refresh a year or so ago.

My service advisor told me it was covered. I didn't ask for anything. Figured it would have been covered under my extended warranty.

Extended warranty for sure. I knew my phasers were going to come when I bought mine, so I got a 4 year unlimited mile warranty for 3700$.

The recall was a new calibration that prevents the wear from developing. If you had it done in the required timeframe you got extended coverage pro-rated by mileage. That expired at the beginning of the year though.
