I just pop the front wheel off and throw mine in the bed on an old moving blanket and close the bakflip. Bedliner helps things stay happy.

the problem is the exhaust too close to the wheels might result in enough heat to melt the carbon rims... I couldn't really see clear but looks like the rack is pretty close at the same height at the rack or close, not only a raptor problem of course!

have seen some pretty crazy pictures on bike forums about this issue in general

It does not. The 1up rack puts bikes above the exhaust. Zero issues

I believe he was stating that this is a problem with the Kuat, which it definitely is. I test fit one on my Gen2 and was clearly going to be an issue. My bike shop has had reports of the Kuat trays melting as well.

I've had a 1up and currently have a Kuat - much prefer the Kuat 2.0 - insanely good design and looks great on the Rappy / better built unit.

I have 5 bikes with carbon wheels and no issues with exhaust for several hour road trips and off road destruction with a bike on back - this is definitely NOT a problem on the Gen 2.

I was looking for a solution for this as well and ended up with this as it fit my needs best. Its the Undercover Ridgelander with the Rhino Rack accessory kit.

Would it be possible to ask you for the clearance measurement from bed to underside of cover when the top is closed (clearance measurement). Im short about an inch with my fridge/slide setup for the bed and i am having to change bed covers. None of the vendors apparently have this measurement on hand. Wanted a double cover from ARE but i haven't been able to get a real world number so i dont want to buy it and it not work.Best to measure from top of one of the ridges in bed grooves. Thanks

I’ve got a Kuat NV 2.0 as well and love it. The color even nearly matches my LFG Raptor! Fits that 4” tire perfectly.

when lay down the tail gate, does it tough the rack? if so, how do you solve the problem ?

Unfortunately, yes, it barely taps it. I thought it was clear (eye balled it) and any amount of pressure on the gate taps the gate on the rack. I ended up having to PDR out a dent and just don’t open it with the rack attached. You could probably use a 6” extension and clear it with no issues.

thanks for the confirm. I have to find another solution then. :(
