GEN 2 107 MPH Speed limiter

I will chime in that I have had mine up to 107 on long stretch of open straight highway; (closed highway with profession driver). I have to say its just a shy over 3kRPM so there is room for more but its limited. very smooth no "flotyness" etc

Okay all fair points. I do get annoyed with my Gen2 Raptor laying the smack down on unsuspecting German metal and Japanese burners only to get caught 1/2 mile down the road when i'm bouncing off the rev limiter at 105/107. I know it's on offroad truck but it's a sport truck as well. I don't plan on running 120+ for long periods of time as I have another ride that can accomplish that with ease. It really boils down to me not wanting the electronics limiting my decision making.

I can't speak to the Raptor specifically but I would expect the limiting factor is either the tires OR the driveshaft. Especially on pickup trucks with long driveshafts, the driveshaft can reach critical speed and if held there for extended periods it will oscillate and vibrate to the point where it can break the transfer case or transmission.

If the “German metal” doesn’t pass you when you hit your limiter they’ll pass you once there’s a curve in the road. Sounds like you bought the wrong vehicle.

Funny. From my perspective someone who bought a raptor can’t make the “wrong decision” As far as curves clearly you haven’t ridden with me.

Agree, corners don't get any more fun than in a Raptor with the tail hanging out, rally style.

I don’t need to ride with you to know you’re not going to keep up with a German sports sedan driving a raptor in the twisties.

Most people have zero clue how to drive a car fast and I have little doubt several forum members could get through the twisties much faster in a Raptor than the vast majority of BMW owners. "Anyone can drive a fast car; very few people can drive a car fast."

And you're still not going to keep up with a German sports sedan in the twisties. I have little doubt anyone who thinks otherwise has never driven as fast as they think they have, otherwise they wouldn't make such ridiculous claims. If you think the Raptor corners well, you have zero clue what a car that corners well is actually supposed to feel like.
