I just received my FedEx tracking numbers from Whipple for my supercharger with Gen 4 rotor assembly. I ordered the “tuner” kit through my local performance shop as as to support the local guy too. I ordered the JDM 650HP upgrade kit, but have no idea why they call it the 650hp. It’s the exact same components as their full kit advertised as the 700hp kit, that includes the ‘tuner’ supercharger. So basically, it should be the 700hp kit, but I’ve just ordered the individual components to make the same setup, including the FR twin 65mm TB. Received my tune from JDM this morning. Only thing I’m currently waiting on is the Afco heat exchanger. JDM said it was still in production and could be another few weeks.
While I’m waiting on it, I wanted to see if those of you have have already gone through this, could tell me of any specific tools that I’m going to need to help in the installation. I know I need to order the special spark plug socket/extension. What other tools make the job a lot easier? Any specific wrenches or sockets, etc? I’ve read at least 1 of the rear blower assembly bolts are a pain to reach.
As soon as I begin the installation, I’ll try to post updates and pics.
