Just wanted to let everyone know first on www.FordRaptorforum.com that we are testing a 2010 Raptor with a 6.2 on the dyno. This is the first truck we have been able to spend some time with and dyno test. We are running several tests here with the truck.

First will be bone stock, the truck has 87 octane in it right now so we are going to have to drain the fuel out asap and fill it with 93.

Second test will be with our custom tune only on 87 and 93 octane

Third test is going to be with the AFE Cold air intake kit test on 93 octane only

Fourth and final test will be after Kooks longtube headers and a Magnaflow catback are installed.

Ill be sure to post up our findings as soon as we get them, we will be working on the truck all week so we are going to have all our tests done by the weekend!

Also I will have some video footage up along with our results.

Thanks,

JimIII

Just a quick update, in stock form with 87 octane the truck made 331 RWHP SAE on our dyno jet. After our custom tune was performed the truck made 352 RWHP netting a total of 21 peak HP gain. These runs were performed in 3rd gear, in 4th gear lock up you can expect to see approximatley 5-6 more HP!! We might have to skip the 93 octane before and after dyno with the weather pressing on us tomorrow, as we need to have the truck done by friday. So we plan to finish up the air kit and tune for that next.

Any idea why the stock tune dips just after 3500 RPM?

And btw, do you guys (or SCT themselves) sell "consumer grade" versions of SCTFlash which still allow full control of all parameters/datalogging/etc? I had EFILive on my '04 Sierra and absolutely loved it, but browsing SCT's site it appeared the Ford version might be dramatically more expensive (i.e., geared only at tuning shops).

I think its either converter lock up or something with fueling tables. I can check with my father on that. SCT does offer a Pro Racer package which will allow you to build and make changes to your tune file. Right now we are not offering our tune in this open format simply because it is so new to us. We can offer a SCT Xcal3 with this tune fully open for adjustments but the parameters that are adjustable on the X3 are pretty limited. But may be what you want for small tweaks and changes. You might just be pretty impressed with our tune alone and not want to change anything :birgits_tiredcoffee

Nice gains all the way through the curve!

I've heard that the Raptor's PCM incorporates a flash counter and that a dealer can determine whether or not the truck's been tuned. Do you happen to know the answer with certainty?

Thats not entirely true. If the computer has the stock program in it at the time the dealer has they're Scan tool hooked up to it and is reading the PCM they will not be able to tell if the computer was flashed. If an aftermarket tune is in the PCM at that will read differently and the dealer may notice its been modified.

The other thing to be careful of is if the dealer trys to flash or update your pcm with an aftermarket tune installed, that will render your tuner useless for your vehicle since the programmer marrys to the PCM.

I always suggest to my customers if you go into the dealer for work to remove the tune from the PCM. If the vehicle is modifed to the point that you can not remove the tune because the vehicle will run poorly or maybe not at all, then your probably well beyond warranty concerns and tell the dealer to stay the F' away from your computer!

Thanks for the clarification. In regard to your tune, what do you recommend to your customers that tow with their trucks? Do you tune differently in that situation?
