O.k.. I get these little messages that say SO and SO wants to be your friend. I always delete out of not knowing verses doing it to OFFEND anyone. So what is want to be my friend anyway? I know I had some crap years ago on AOL, yes AOL, remember I am old, and every time I signed on someone I knew would pop on an instant message and say HELLO! ALL hours of the day or night. One guy EVERY TIME i signed on was right there. I dropped all that shit and to this day I block or deni that stuff. Is this what this is?

I remember AOL, and even more, the older Bulletin Board Systems where a modem's speed was measured in Baud.

I've responded to a few friend requests here, but don't see the point really unless there is live chat in a separate window. We have threads to post what's on our mind, and PM's to share privately. And there's no contest to see who has the most 'friends' (that I know of) so I just consider all the members my friends [with only a few minor exceptions].
