Yeah, Texas state troopers love to use a missing front plate as an excuse to pull drivers over and pad their citation quota numbers.

I've lived here 7 years, and never had a front plate on any vehicle. I've yet to be pulled over for it. In fact, only once has an officer mentioned my lack of plates when pulled over for speeding.

I hope they pass the bill currently before the Texas legislature that eliminates the requirement. Until then, I will be running a front plate.

That bill is dead on the floor.
