Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a used 2018 Raptor with about 58k miles on it. I purchased it from a dealership and got a smoking deal on it, including a free lifetime powertrain warranty. Unfortunately, this meant I wasn’t able to speak with the previous owner about the mods he did to the truck and the salesmen at the dealership didn’t know all the details.

From what I can see (and I’m not mechanically inclined at all) I have seen the following mods:
-RPG perch collars in front
-Deaver +3 in rear
-SVC adjustable bump stop
-skid plate
-spare tire relocated to trunk bed, Warn winch installed in its place (no remote included)
-Cobb cold air intake
-KC Pro6 light bar
-BuiltRight bedside rack system
-Tonneau cover

Every Aux switch in the truck was labeled, but so far it seems only the KC light bar is still connected. I’m not sure how to get the winch on and operating, as it did not come with a remote and is fully encased under the bed. There are also aftermarket lights (unsure of brand at this time) on the rear bumper which I cannot turn on. I have attached photos of the switches, take a look and see if they ring any bells.

I’m also not sure if the truck is tuned or not. There are several holes in the dash under the steering wheel which lead me to suspect there was a pedal commander or something similar, and the Cobb CAI make me believe it may have been tuned. I’m not sure if the dealership would have reverted that prior to selling.

I’ve also driven the truck about 600 miles, and my average MPGs right now are 13.7. I obviously didn’t purchase the truck as a commuter, but with current gas prices the average has me slightly concerned at this point. Looking around posts on here, it seems like people either get similar to my MPGs or get around 18 MPG. I have talked to Gen 2 owners who claim to get 19-20mpg, but I don’t see how. I’m wondering if the lift, skid plate, and light bar on my truck are making a significant impact on my MPGs. The truck has brand new 35” KO2s.

Regardless, I love the truck and am super excited about it! I just want to get to know it more thoroughly.

Thank you guys

P.S., the KC light bar is activated by hitting Aux Switch 5 labeled “KC.” Unsure what the other ones do. Under the hood, it looks like several wires had been cut (probably by previous owner to remove other mods prior to selling).

Again, I’m a newbie at this stuff and not very mechanically inclined. Any help is appreciated!

With the mileage you’re getting PLUS the COBB cai, I would assume it is tuned. As far as the AUX switches go, I do not see any fog lights in the bumper, and I’m assuming there aren’t any chase lights in the rear, the previous owner may only be using 2 Aux switches. 1 for the light bar, and the winch for the other. Is there a relay fuse or anything you can see for the winch that may be blown for the reason why it’s not working ?

When I bought my used Gen 1, it took me a week to find the switch for the reverse lights in the rear bumper. Crawled under the bumper and found the switch. All the upfitter switches worked my forward facing lights.

I’d say a good way to tell if it’s tuned would be if the Auto Start/Stop feature never comes on, Cobb’s tuner codes this out and most people opt to disable it. 13 MPG is pretty low in my opinion, but it all depends on your drive. I’m tuned by goose tuned and my average is 17.6 right now, but I’m all highway.

Got any pics of the rear number lights? They could’ve just been tapped in to the reverse function. I opted to hook mine to the reverse and AUX switches so I have options, got the harness from 4x4TruckLEDs and it made the job very simple

Mpg depends on what you do. Around town and in my hilly neighborhood I get 14.5 but on the highway I can get 18.5. Or if I throw it sport mode, I just assume dollars are flying out the back of the truck!

The warn probably isn't hooked to a aux switch. I would never advise someone to hook to an aux as far as a winch goes. Direct to batt is best. as for the remote you can score a wired or wireless Warn for 80-250 . Congrats on the rig. How does she ride with the springs? I am completely stock and like the suspension nice and squishy around town at 35-36 psi. As far as milage, stay out of boost and you can get 18avg. As much as 19.5 -20 if youre flat or downhill on highway. Same as my wrangler although that Thang was a bit better around town.

The suspension mods are perfectly fine. Your Ford dealer should make sure its put back to stock as far as a tune goes, I believe @FordTechOne mentioned before about it, should not be tuned coming from a certified dealer, can't remember exactly what he said. Anyway, welcome to the place and congrats on a beautiful Raptor.

I’m going to assume it is tuned then, the auto start/stop never turns on. If I were to uninstall would it improve my MPGs? Also, would I have to purchase an accessport to uninstall?

I have tried baby-ing the truck in an attempt to max out MPGs. I set it at 65mph on adaptive cruise on a flat highway and maxed out at 15.9 MPG.

The truck rides fantastic with the springs! I test drove a few other Gen 2s and the one I purchased is noticeably better.

I will take a picture under the hood and rear bumper lights later.

Thank you all for the help so far!
