OBD2 NOT WORKING

I just got this OBD2 scanner, and was looking to do some mass overhall on changing some things on my truck. I downloaded forscan and the drivers for the usb tool. I got the OBD2 from Amazon. It has ELM327 v1.4. I attempted the latest drivers as shown on instructions. It seems to be registering with my laptop fine. Is this possibly my scan tool or could it be something software related?

Well, I was informed that easyOBDII is not a usable test option due to how it reads. Also, for a new cable and worked perfectly. I guess I got a dud or something. It is the $30 dollar one everybody buys on Amazon. OHP was very quick to reply and send me a new one. I was able to get programming in minutes with new cable.
