Unfortunately, finding a good HO 6.2L is not going to happen.
Plenty of non HO 6.2L are in the junk yards because they came out of work trucks.

I hope your not planning on putting the Procharger back on.
Research on this forum about the Procharger, it is not Raptor friendly for drivability.
And if the truck was Tuned by a crappy faulty Hennessey Tune, that explains a lot.
Yours would not be the first to experience a Hennessey ************* build.

I'd go with used as well. I would not pony up $14K for a new 6.2L long block, that's way too expensive- even if it is new and not rebuilt.

If you are going new- build it with better rods, pistons and oil pump gears. $14K could get you a fully built engine, plus headwork and custom cams.

Assuming your $14K included labor, buy some wrenches and learn how to turn them! It all comes out by turning bolts to the left, and goes back in by turning bolts to the right.

It's not $14k for the long block, it's $14,000 installed.
That's labor for tear out and reinstall of long block about 35+ hrs. @$135 per hr.
all the gaskets, seals, fluids, spark plugs....etc....and let's not for about taxes!!!

Only difference between the "ho" (raptor) and the "non ho" (super duty) is the cams and tune

Valves are different too.
I cannot find it right now.
The heads on the HO go through an extra step, I believe some mild porting is done and I forget what else.

If anybody finds proof please post here I don't want to start anything.

Valves and heads are 100% the same (and block, pistons, etc) only "hard" part is cams
I did extension research including talking to livernois head tech.
Would love to see the source on the info you got however

Did you read my whole post?
I did my research 9 years ago, including talking Livernois.
I wanted the Raptor R heads and cams.
And I'm not about to go over a million posts.
