OK,so been reading all the posts about changing the spark plugs on 2014 Raptor (Shelby w/Whipple SC) and slowly building up the nerve to tackle the job, along with buying parts and tools needed....So far I picked up the Flex-Head Gearwrench 3/8" ratchet and their 3 piece swivel 5/8" spark plug socket set...pretty sure whatever else I need is in the tool chest.....
Also have purchased the 16 plugs...talked to Shelby and they told me they used the NGK-6510...
Tools and Plugs set me back $200 so far,so figure the do-it-yourself job will save me $400-$500 over dealer prices and I'll still have my $75 in tools..
I'm still about 10/20K out since I only have 55K on it.....but for sure not waiting till recommended 100K.
So my question....are you guys also changing the Wires and Ignition Coil-Packs when doing the plugs, even if old ones are good?? And what brand are you using..?? Totally confused with the coil-packs with prices ranging from 39.95 for 8 .. to $80+ for ONE.....$39.95 to $600+ is a big spread.....Also have seen where you buy the Wires and Coil Pack "pellets" to repair instead of replace....and a set of Wires with the repair pellets is running $275...
Suggestions??? What the usual way of doing....?,just change it all out once your under the hood anyway?
