I know earlier in this thread I brought up the idea of ford making a DVD for the Raptor and some of you mentioned that you thought it was a great idea...
If anyone has connections and wants to push that up, feel free, I don't even care if you make it look like your idea, haha. Seriously though, I won't be able to do anything about it due to lack of the knowledge of who to send it to and also the extremely limited internet connectivity I'll have for the next several months while I'm out of the country.
I think there's a need for this type of education with a truck like this simply because there's a lot of things about the way it works that the average joe doesn't exactly know unless he's been into pre-runners or some type of off road racing for awhile.
I'll try to log on when I can, but most likely, I'll be back on in a few months. Hopefully we can all find some kind of resolution to this whole issue.
IMHO, the Training / DVD idea is the ONLY real "fix" for this so-called problem. Ford built one of the best off-road vehicles ever offered, right there with the H1, and people still broke it. I have a feeling, no matter what they do, someone will take it too far. On the H1, because it has IS, we would break ball joints and half shafts. With better ball joint we broke control arms. When we went to stronger half shafts, we broke transfer cases (the next weak link up the drive train). After that, we got better training, learned what would break the truck and stopped doing those things. Can you guess what happened next? You got it; we stopped breaking shit. Not only that, but we could operate it better in any situation. We still drove fast, but slowed down for, or better yet, drove around bumps, rocks and holes we knew would break the trucks. The Outlaw kit looks great and I'm sure will enhance performance as advertised, but it won't cure stupid! Yes I said it because a lot us have been stupid and the only cure for stupid is training (or pain). Either way we go, buying replacement parts or buying good training, it's going to cost a few $$ but the training is always cheaper.
