There are 3100 Ford dealers in the US. Thousands of F150s releasing is only a few per dealer. That's not anywhere close to meeting demand.

Sales were way down in the first half of the year and they still sold over 360,000 F150s.

Ford normally sells nearly 1m F-150s annually. H1 2021 they sold 360k total pickups. Even if Ford's CEO is correct in stating he believes that the chip shortage will alleviate by the end of 2021 it won't be until 2022 that the market stabilizes.

Read the comments on that article and there are tons of people waiting on 2021 model trucks they ordered in the early part of the year. Personally, I'd dump the order - getting a 2021 model by the time 2022 models are released is only going to burn you down the line on re-sale.

Doubtful as the demand is outstripping the availability - the cars will sell at full price pretty much regardless through the end of the year and beyond.
