Unplugging the black connector (which only controls trailer brake lights) is the best solution by far. Paying $100 for these devices is a waste of good money. Free will always be better than $100! Maybe if you pull trailers regularly... but even then, you just plug it back in.

Can you confirm that the backup camera still works? Some members have speculated that it may not.

Backup cam, rear sensors, etc. all work just fine on my 2018 802a SCREW.

Sorry, but no reason to do anything other than pull the plug for $0.00.
