When I check my fuel mileage the old way, miles driven/gallons of fuel. It is always about one mpg lower than what the computer read-out states. Any one else check their mileage that way?

Here’s an updated report after returning home from Reno, this represents a round trip with AC running the entire time, just me as the passenger

The computer showed 17.6 mpg on my maiden voyage from Albuquerque to Flagstaff on a new truck. Most of the way it was 18.1 or so, but it dropped in the final 60 miles on the climb into Flagstaff.
