The last time we saw the 2011, Ford F150 Raptor Supercrew, every inch of it was covered in heavy camouflage. Today, every inch of that camo has been removed!

Following the success of the Supercab-only F-150 SVT Raptor, Ford has now added a four-door variant to product mix for 2011. Ford’s director of product communications recently confirmed directly to Leftlane that the 2011 F-150 Raptor Supercrew will come exclusively with the new 6.2-liter V8 engine.

While the Supercab version of the Raptor can be equipped with either Ford’s 5.4L V8 or 6.2L V8, the Supercrew version of the desert stormer will come exclusively with the up-level motor.

The 5.4-liter, 3-valve V8 found in the current F-150 trucks has a relatively anemic 320 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque compared to some of the premium offerings in the class. Ford’s 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor Supercab pickup received mostly glowing reviews and customer feedback, but the aging engine became the sore spot for the off-roading truck.

For 2011, Ford has added the 6.2-liter V8 with 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque as the optional engine for the Supercab Raptor, along with the new Supercab configuration for the Raptor package. Ford says that they decided to go with the 6.2-liter V8 as the standard engine for the Supercrew to help offset the large size and added weight in an effort to keep the truck viable as a high-performance desert runner.

No major tweaked are planned for the four-door version of the truck, although we hear Ford could offer the Supercrew with the 4.2 inch “LCD Productivity Screen” from the new Super Duty. Look for the Raptor Supercrew to hit Ford dealers later this year.
