$20 Fuel pump fuse problem is way cheaper than a turbo failure problem... Old school technology wins in my opinion if you’re doing your own mechanic work and value reliability over the shiny new tech destined to break.

The gen 1 has had frame problems if miss treated and I've heard of a fuel pump fuse problem..I know 2 guys out here that have had the fuel pump problem..plus the gen 2 look way sexier!!

The upkeep is a lot cheaper, plus rumor has it the durability of the six banger is in question. Have not heard of any frame issues with the Gen 1. Sexier?! The front end of the Gen 2 looks like a bass mouth sucking in a minnow!

I think this is one of the first Fuse 27 threads (this is the fuse you need to relocate to fix the fuel pump issue), but it has been documented a bunch throughout the forum.

If you want the kit you can get it from Amazon for $22 or Forged Offroad for $29 (not sure why it costs more from Forged).

They come with directions. It will take you maybe 30 minutes to install.

If you’re under warranty, enjoy the twin turbo eco-boom. Out of warranty I would not touch one. I spoke with a mechanic about long term reliability with the 6.2 vs. eco-boost and towing, he said even though Ford touts more torque with the ecoboost, sooner or later the turbos will fail and it’s a big, big price tag to fix. I will take reliability over headaches every day and twice on Sunday. Mpg is a joke with the ecoboost towing. Have a coworker who had one and said pulling his fishing boat on the interstate in SD, he would get 7 mpg... no gas saving there.

Oh yeah? My brother-law's cousin said his mom's sister has a Gen 1 and it actually makes fuel pulling a bass boat.
