This is what I built, there is a medium size action packer tote between the two vp gas cans, and if I remove the spouts from them and put one of the spares underneath I can run my bed cover.

Yea I was very disappointed seeing they claim it a 100,000 mile filter and I never made it to nowhere near half of that. Not sure it can take the off road abuse, May last forever on a street queen.
Yea that's the same one I ran I had the dry afe first, then went to the power core and that fell apart, now I'm running the afe pro guard 7 and no complaints on that one.
The big line on the res is suction which is 3/4 and the small line is the return which I believe is 3/8. If you have the filter on the small line it's on the return side after the rack
I ran one of these and it never lasted me a year. Filtration was great but after a while the filter element started to to go soft and collapsed it was starting to be sucked up into the boot and eventually tore away from the boot, I still have the filter in my garage I will dig it out and post...
If it's only grinding in 4 wheel drive it not due to cracked vacuum lines or loss of vacuum, the truck uses vacuum to disengage the hubs to be in 2 wheel drive.
