Hell yeah, 22" of linked travel is a ton more effective than the same amount of spring travel, if it were even possible.
Are you bumped out on the frame with the axle tubes, or do you run out of room on the upper link mounts under the bed first ?

By our last measurement we are about .5in away from slamming the bed. If it hits when we put the bed back on we will just need to trim out a 3x6 hole and re-plate it in. Hopefully shouldn't need to but I can't say for sure yet. These pics are at full bump and droop with the shocks so we don't need to notch the frame or anything. The axle is .5 away from hitting the frame so we will build our bump mounts based off this location.

by going of a ***** angle of your bed cage picture, i can't see how you remove the bed as its built right through the bed? did i miss something or can you explain how its removable? thanks

Sorry, forgot to answer your last question. Once the bed cage is welded to the frame, there is no getting the bed out.

Uh oh, what failed the "flange" ?
I'm using one on each side in addition to grade 12 bolts and washers in the six factory bed mounting points.

these type of joints should be stronger then the tube that they are in.

Its a leaf a sprung truck that the guy just bought off a friend of mine 2 days ago, the builder specializes in VERY high end builds so he know what he's doing!!

He doesn't recall hitting anything hard enough to shear them, but it's Barstow so any can fail at anytime

I'm with you on this one. We have this designed to be welded in 6 places to the frame. There is just to many variables asking to go wrong with a full tubed clamp mounting system. Not to mention the nightmare it would be getting it in and out after the base clamp gets welded. Those things move so much, I hate dealing with them.

Preach on !
It took me 6 ratchet straps, 4 c clamps and a bf hammer to get the cage back in after welding those camburg tubing joints up.
