I won't be buying one, but it will be from a purely economic standpoint. With a rumored price of $65k ish, it is more than I'm willing to spend. That is an estimated $20k MORE than what I paid for mine.

If it's north of $60k I won't be buying one. It's not worth that much to me. I'll buy an used gen 1 if that happens. Ford would be making a mistake. Just like jeep did with the SRT8 line, they entered a different market of buyers when they redesigned and shot the price up. How many of those do you see on the road now? $45-$58k caters to a broad market. $60k+ puts it out of the realm of possibilities for some.

I'll have to check it out in person and test drive and may wait another year + especially if price is at the upper end. I really, really like my 12' Lariat w/the 3.5L Eco. Short of the low end torque being too much I think it'll make a really nice truck. I'll be among the first in line in my area to check it out.
I hope though they now:
1. Let you change modes at any speed (hate how you have to slow down for off road mode...dumb!)

2. One can enable the camera(s) at any time (another dumb deal to have to be in 4Lo and have to go aftermarket to bypass)

3. Breadcrumbs in the GPS works more like the '12, it tracks further and keeps tracking now matter what screen your on if enabled.

Looking forward to seeing the cameras in action, driving by yourself and having to check rocks/other on the passenger side is a PITA, it'll be nice to hopefully have 360 deg cameras to utilize! I too hope they have a better GPS suited better for offroad as well. If they have all that I likely won't wait long!

I'll be in the market for a new truck in 2019. Right now I'm leaning towards a '19 Raptor but that is so far out it's hard to say what I will get. Perhaps a King Ranch to DD vs. a new Raptor.

I will not get rid of my current Raptor as I will just store it at my friends shop to make room for a new truck.

I'll probably get the next gen raptor but will keep my '10. No matter how great this next truck is my heart will always be for the 1st gen truck. I'll probably tuck the '10 in the garage and use the new truck for everything. Maybe in the distant future having an OG raptor will be worth something to collectors. Who knows

I'm not a nay-sayer, I think the new truck is going to be awesome overall. But I'm definitely going on record to say that I won't be buying a 2017. I plan to wait it out and see if they put a better engine in it. The idea of selling my truck today to get a new one at the end of next year (at the very earliest) makes ZERO sense. You'd have to be financially brain dead to think that's a smart move. What are you going to drive until then? Something that will depreciate. And it will most likely depreciate a lot more than a Raptor. Plus the new trucks are almost guaranteed to be going for huge premiums over sticker for at least a few months, possibly longer. We all know what the last of the new 2014s were selling for.

And a turbo V6 just doesn't make any sense in an offroad truck. Turbos make sense in work trucks.

And the new engine definitely sounds like shit. If you're ok with getting your V8 sound piped in through the speakers, that's great. Then you'll love absolutely everything about your new Raptor. But for some of us, it's pretty close to being a deal breaker.

Not sure why everyone is so hung up on this. You should be glad the new engine isn't for everyone. That means there will be fewer people rushing out to get one.

Plus why do you care what people think about your new truck? I sure as hell don't care what you think about mine.

I think jimbo is a red. He bought a raptor so he could troll and pose as one of us but deep down he knew he was for rainbow bmw's and Italian trucks. He got so many compliments from family and friends that his raptor was probably the best vehicle he had ever owned and he couldn't accept it and made the excuse that the "wife" wanted it gone. That's my take on what happened here
