Well, buyer's remorse is a funny thing. I think it's pretty typical to get more comfortable with a purchase decision with familiarity and time. That does not validate the purchase decision itself, of course. It's just a defense mechanism against regret.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned the 10 gig hard drive for all your music that comes with the NAV? Did I miss that?

And for those that claim a smart phone works just as well for navigation, it ain't the same. Not even close.

well the HDD comes with the 6 disc changer too, so thats why i didnt mention it.

and as a person who has used the droid navigator with my phone, and the indash in the raptor..... not even close! for 1 its on a 7" screen versus the what 2-4" screen of your phone. can have your music up loud and still hear the directions. plus the added weather maps and such, dvd player..... comparing a cell phone navigation to the indash, is like comparing an S-10 to the Raptor and saying "its basically the same... they both pick up trucks......."

Money no object it's a no brainer. Obviously you get NAV.

The decision is a very personal one. Personally I couldn't justify the additional price.

$2,500 is about $40 a month added to a five year loan. And yes, you'll get some of it back when you sell/trade in. But that will also diminish as time goes on.

How many times do you use GPS every month? Do you already own a smartphone?

- I own a smartphone, and I like its NAV features: voice command, real time traffic etc.
- I plan on keeping the Raptor until the wheels fall off, so resale is irrelevant.
- I don't use GPS often.
- I needed to fit the payments into a tight budget, yes $40 a month makes a difference.
- NAV software goes stale over time, and new disks can run $200.
- I like less crap that can go wrong.
- I can already back up without hitting stuff.

With different parameters I can totally see making a different decision.

:p

Thanks for your input everyone!

Well guys it sounds like everyone has a very valid answer to my question about the Navigation and I really appreciate all your input. I found a couple 2011 Molten Orange Raptor S-CREW's one with Nav and one without. I really want the Molten Orange color Raptor to match my Off Road Toy. You guys talked me into the Navigation. I am looking forward to the fun options. The reason why I asked this question is because I wanted your opinions on whether it is worth the money. I agree, I am not worried about resale, I plan on owning the Raptor for years. I totally agree with Badrap about using the "Bread Crumb" feature, us old guys get turned around at times. I like the voice control as well as being able to easily view the maps on a 7 inch screen. I have given away most of my CD's so I do like the 10 Gig storage, this will be great for Baja and long drives. Having the weather radar maps might be very helpful when you are out looking for fresh snow to go throw this baby sideways!

Does anyone know if the Navigation works outside of the USA boarders? My Nissan Armada screen went black when I crossed the Mexican Border leaving San Diego.

Do you think the color is going to match?

You made the right decision on the NAV. It is awesome and I am glad I set the bar higher as well in spite of the $$'s. There is a TON of functionality in there in addition to just the NAV.

P.S. If that's your daughter, she's very attractive. If she's your GF, you are my hero....she's smokin.
