I'm getting ready to buy a second set of wheels/tires from Outlaw. These will be my mud tires and I will swap back and forth with the stock setup.
My question is do I put up with the idiot light while running my muds or put a second set of TPMS sensors in my new wheels. I guess you have to "learn" the new sensors each time you swap?
A caution about the idiot light - it seems on my truck when I'm aired down, the idiot light comes on periodically.
If I am trying to 'push and hold' the trac loc button, the idiot message comes on after about 3 seconds and interrupts the 'turn it off' function. I've tried numerous times, but I just cannot get the truck into 'full disable trac loc' mode when my tires are down. PITA for sure.
So relearning the sensors has to be done by a dealer ?
I had the exact same issue yesterday, JP. Frustrating. To top it off, I drove Brochacho's new 2011 later in the day and with the new productivity screen it is so much easier to properly engage all the right modes. Went through all the functions and got super jealous! His TPMS weren't going off, but nevertheless it seems Ford addressed our complaints about the cumbersome traction control process in the new one.
