Hi Guys.
I know on the 2013 we cannot have DRL because of the HID's, and I am OK with that. What I would like to do is have the parking lights come on and off automatically like DRL. I like the look of the truck with the parking lights on, but I have left them on a couple of times and I really don't want to risk killing the battery.

Is there any way to have the parking lights programmed to work as the DRL and go on/off automatically.

Thanks

I'm sure Nosbusa will be here shortly to comment, but couldn't you just run them off a relay from the ignition?

im not sure you can program the parking lights to turn on and off with the vehicle. so it seems that aaron is right, you will need a relay wired to the ignition........ diagram if necessary

Well bummer. I would think that the signature 3 LEDs in the grill would at least be on all the time. I was just hoping that there was an easy setup config that I had just not found yet.

I have the daytime running lights, but strangely enough it does not light up the amber's. I would rather have the parking lights as daytime running. If I swap to 2013 HID lights will daytime running no longer work.

It will likely just run the headlights on low beam when set up for DRL's. The function of DRL's have to be there because it's required in Canada and plenty of states.

I would be curious to know how the 2013 headlights work when installed in older trucks with DRL's.

If you can not have DRL’s on the 13 because of the HID’s then the 13 can not be sold in Canada with HID's!

Is there a DIY somewhere that shows how to wire your parking lights to the "on" position of the ignition for the 2012's?

I'd like to have them on automatically in the daytime.

They do have them in Canada. Why would they not be able to run HID as daytime running lights?
