Damn sounds good.......Bo I hope that lights a fire under your ass to get your exhaust done

I knew you'd say that, and yes it has!

What do you think would have a deeper rumble on my 6.2, a big-boy Magnaflow muffler like that, or a little tiny powerhouse Magnaflow like you have on your 5.4???

Also, the guys @ 4 Wheel Parts are trying to peddle Thrush Mufflers as the option I should go with, but I must admit I'm not very familiar with that company.... do you guys know much about them??

The bigger the muffler the quieter it will be.......so I say small and thrush has been around forever and they are decent, but they were only pushing it cuz they have it in stock

yeah, that's what I figured. I spent a few years in sales and the old mantra is always S.W.A.T. (Sell Whats Available TODAY).

Alright **** it, Jules you know a shitload more about mechanics than I do and I definitely trust your judgement, I'm not gonna waste anymore time researching sound clips..... throw me a link to what you think I should order and I'll bust out the credit card.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-14159/

Take your pic of tips from here but they are chrome, but the size you need

Here the one black tip I would do, but RBP is more for diesel, but this could work and I would do the red star to go with the grabbers

Ok word, I'm reading this from my blackberry at lunch, so when I get back to the computer I'll order the muffler. As for the tip, there's a few options I've found that I like, I'll show you so you can tell me what options fit..... We'll play our own little version of "just the tip" :naughty:

You're not OLD Pirate, you're sophisticated.... there's a big difference. :)

Jules, that RBP tip is right up my alley in the looks department. Chrome is my enemy and that thing looks mean in black and red. The tip is a little more than the cost of the muffler though!! whatever, I'll bite the bullet and get the ill shit. If I end up not liking the under-cab side exit, or it keeps coming loose off-road like your old setup, then I may end up going Plan B and hacking the pipe and having the tip mounted under the truck right after the muffler like you ended up doing. If that's the case, that tip will end up being a waste of money, but I guess it's worth the risk... if Plan A (side exit b4 the rear tire) works out it will look great.

So from the drop-down menu on the RBP link which size option do you think I should go with??

Just ordered the small race series Magnaflow muffler and RBP black tip with the red star!! Stoked.

As we discussed on the phone, I actually ended up ordering the driver side tip even though I'm gonna mount it on the passenger side. I did this because the tips are designed to be mounted behind the rear tire, side exit, with the logo facing the car behind you..... since I will be mounting it before the rear tire on the passenger side, ordering a driver's side tip means that I can mount it the way I want it with the long part of the slash toward the tire and the short part of the slash towards the running board... this will make the logo face somewhat upwards so that its visible to someone entering the passenger side door. I called the company to confirm this before ordering.

Thanks to Jules for the help and Pirate for the inspiration. If everything goes according to plan, I think this is gonna look and sound awesome when its all said and done.
