Let me get this straight.

Gen 1 was a V8
Gen 2 came out as a V6 and people got all butt hurt because they didnt get a V8 to flex at stop lights and to take an offroad truck to the drag strip.
Gen 3 came out with a V6 and V8 option and people are still complaining and want another kinda V8 in the raptor for the gen4?
are you new here?

Personally, doesn't have to be a v8. Time for more power though. And lighter. Ford can certainly do this. For $90k I don't it's unreasonable to ask for this and get it. I would rather advocate for this than settle for the status quo or mock those that desire it.:)

I don’t think the Scab actually weighed much less anyway and had a lower towing/payload capacity. Pretty hard to make a durable good lighter in a measurable amount for no price change and maintain durability. I’ll take 6000K lbs over the Porsche model of saving 40lbs for an extra 100K bucks.

The only way they can keep the Raptor even close in price to a F150 is using most of the same parts. They still gotta keep those fleet XLs affordable, can’t mess with fleet business. Not that a XL is all that cheap either these days.

I would like to see a small displacement TT V8 based on the 2.7 EB.

Based on the current 2.7 specs, we could have a V8 around 4.0L with 500 hp/600 tq in a conservative state of tune, V8 sound, and weight and reliability close to or even better than the 3.5 EB.

An HO version of the same engine could maybe see 550 hp/650 tq (Raptor R has 640 tq).
