GEN 1 Can any one believe that fordtechone.....

Fordtechone is wrong

  • Cam, throttle body and tuning changes by SVT, common knowledge..

  • Basic 6.2L and not unique to raptor as delivered in the super duty.

Ford tech one seems to believe there was no changes to the 6.2L boss that was fitted in the super duty vs. Gen1 Raptor.. can someone please chime in and elaborate...

”The base engine made its debut in the 2011 Ford Super Duty with 385 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. A unique cam profile means the engine pumps out 411 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 434 pound-feet at 4500 rpm in Raptor trim. “

Reminds me of some arguments on the 4r100 that came on the lightning on the lightning rodder and svtp forums, whether is was lightning specific or one off a diesel.

The Boss engine was first developed for the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as a late-availability option. A limited-edition high-output version of the 6.2 L V8 was later introduced for the Raptor as well. In 2017, the engine received new tuning and modified camshafts to bump torque so it could be better suited for use in the Super Duty line of one-ton work trucks

There's a nice graph showing the 411hp 6.2 was only available in the fseries trucks while the 385hp version was available in every thing else...
