ok if its the clock spring thats bad on your truck, which happened to be the problem for my specific steering angle sensor fault, heres the info i saved when i did mine. first off make sure its the right part.
use a socket 5.5mm i think to remove the steering shroud. (the plastic housing around the steering wheel column.) after thats done look on each side as well as the bottom for these little holes
i used a small flat blade screwdriver as a round phillips will probably slip off the retaining clip. push the screwdrive in until you hit metal. the retaining clip is on a spring so you can push it in, and you will feel it push back. push in with the screwdrive until you see the airbag move. i started on the left and went to the bottom, then finally the right. each time it gets released, the airbag will come out a little further.
