And now come the articles stating that Ford HAS to offer a V8:)

.... and, Autoweek is a reputable source.

Autoweek makes a good point that it gives them a high volume model to recoup the development costs of the GT500 motor.

Relax a couple of years and see what happens. By then, you'll know if they build it or not.

If they are going to do it we will know a lot sooner than that. And pressure is definitely building.

I don't get why everyone isn't more excited about this. Some of these guys have their egos way too wrapped up in having the "best Raptor there ever was or ever will be". So much so that they would rather let Ford get beat by Dodge. What strange, fragile little men.

This time around it's not nearly what it was like with the J1 jerkers. Those guys entire identity was wrapped up in the Gen I. It was the end of the world for them when the Gen II was developed and knocked their truck off the throne. Insult to injury, the Gen II did it with a V6 :lol2:

Me? I'm looking forward to either the 5.2 Raptor or the TRX. And my Gen II has held it's value better than any other '17 F150, will continue to do so. In my mind it's all gravy.

People that get excited over rumors tend to get let down a lot. If it happens, I might be excited then. Would I buy one? Probably not, the one I have suites me fine and I only drive 1-2k a year. I don't feel the need to have the latest and greatest. That's a marketing ploy to draw people in that have money they want to spend.

look how many times the magazines got the GT500 wrong countless times, I don't put a lot of faith in this. There were insiders in certain places that slapped down plenty of these rumors and gave an idea of what might be to come if you could read between the lines. Those people were right, the mags were wrong up until the very end. Sadly those people have yet to comment on this one.
