Update on my truck: Now there is an engineering part revision with no eta on completion. This marks day 59 the truck has been at the dealer.

When you get the part revision, let us know what it now is. Hard keeping up with the engineering changes on these parts that are supposed to 'stop' the ticking.
Mine is getting worse... hopefully it just lets go and I can get a new engine. Most days, I just really hate this thing.

Be careful with that wish.. mine has been slated for a new engine for the past month and these delays keep piling up. Why can’t Ford just make a supercab short bed with a 5.0 so I can build my own truck...

2017 w/27k miles. Roush CAI and Stainless Works downpipes and exhaust. Cam phaser broke, and it took them 6 weeks to replace it and the cylinder head. Ticking noise on cold starts. They had it for two more weeks recently, declared it fixed, but the ticking remains.

Anyone have any good pre fix videos? I have a tick that has developed that I believe is a cam phaser. Sounds like it's coming from the passenger side.

You’ll know when you have it. Set 4A, Stabilitrac OFF and nail it. Before you redline 3-4 shift you’ll get a knock event and the truck will go into limp mode, flashing CEL. This happens because the computer can’t place the valve overlap into the correct position and dynamic compression gets too high for the map.

When we tore the engine open you could physically rock one of the the RH cylinder cam shafts back and forth with no movement at the sprocket.

Yup, I have a similar rattle and a tick from the passenger side once it's warm. I think my rattle is a bit louder but my Borla Atak muffler drowns everything out to the untrained ear.

Took mine in 3 weeks ago with a start up rattle as loud as any I've heard posted here and was told it's normal. Truck has zero mods and 25K miles. They did a bunch of the recall and scheduled service work on it and I picked it up a couple of days later.

Last weekend headed to Big Bend Natl Park in Texas, about 600 miles from the house. On the way home traveling a good clip I suddenly loose power. Truck will run 40mph on level road, 30 on uphills. I limp 20 miles down the road to next big town, San Angelo, about 300 miles from my house. Found a good dealer and they get me in right away. They found the high pressure fuel pump being held on by one loose bolt. There are supposed to be 3. One is missing and the the other is snapped off in the head. I get a rental and head home. I do the 600 mile loop to pick it up Wednesday. Same start-up rattle exists but it seems to be running fine. The dealer notes on the work order that the engine has a tick and that it's not normal.

This last Friday I'm heading home from Fort Worth and the damn thing craps the bed again. Exact same issue. I limp home and get it flat-bedded to the same dealer who said the noise was normal. They haven't looked at the truck yet but I'm already ready to have some heated debates about the repair.

Was the second failure again HPFP related or did it misfire from the cams and go into limp mode that way?
