I emailed the company.

Everything still works in that regard.

You lose the hardware button for the camera. There is a software button on the screen.

You lose the ford pass app and remote start via cell phone feature.

You lose Sirius xm via satellite but can stream it via app.

You lose the voice commands.

That’s what I know so far.

Thanks Guy, appreciate the info.

Could care less about sirius, voice commands (seriously, why do car manufacturers even bother?!). I have never used the remote start via the app, though I am not sure if that would be helpful. So overall, I can easily live with the features not supported.

I am curious to know everyday usability and reliability - does it lag, does it freeze, how quick is it to startup when you get in the car, how quickly does it switch to reverse camera view, etc. Even small amounts of lag or glitches can totally derail the user experience in every day life.

Also, OP, does it ship with everything needed for install, or do you have to order any harnesses or adapters or cords separately? What about dash trim pieces? Is all of the install in the dash itself, or do you have to run wires or connect/disconnect anything elsewhere on the truck?

Overall, it sounds like for $800, this could be a very nice upgrade. I will stay tuned to this thread for more user reviews. Thanks OP for pointing us to this option.

I’d like to know those very answers too.

The only feature I’d miss is the remote start by app, but I can go aftermarket and get the same experience.

My plan would be to add an LTE WiFi hub in the center console to power the internet for the head unit.

Imagine the possibilities.

Yes, agreed. Question - is this an Android based system? Or can I get google assistant on it in some fashion? If I can use android auto on it, that would address this, but wondering if the unit can stand on its own without having to use the phone tethered.

A car system that's connected to the Internet AND actually recognizes voice commands intelligently is a game changer. That would make people use their car's in-built nav again without using their phones like they do now.

Google assistant is contextually aware, many times I would say "take me to the closest CVS" and it would make its own decisions on which one is fastest to get to, based on current traffic. Current car systems cannot recognize our voice as well, or make any of those decisions. Or I'd say "take me to mead's market" and even if it didn't originally hear exactly what I said, it will correct itself because it knows what's around me that sounds similar.

I believe it’s a fully functional android tablet.

Guy, you need to jump into this pond and see what's what. You are already the tune guy, you should also become the big screen guy for the Raptor! That way the rest of us can get all our questions answered. LOL
