The gen2 is about as near perfect as a Truck a Raptor can be! You don’t need 702hp or a V8 to get things done in the desert! If you wanna go faster change the inter cooler/bigger turbos/ tune will get you well on your way!

550hp and 630ish tq
Same weight as gen 2
Upgraded interior
12inch screen
Larger gas tank option
Get rid of leaf springs
Keep the same price point as Gen 2
Do all that and even if it's $83k for an 802 level truck, they will sell a ton of them.

Excited for this next step in the evolution of the Raptor. Looks like all news points to a V8 available in either 5.2, 6.8, or 7.3 form. I will pay MSRP for either one of those.

Oh you will pay more than MSRP if you want one. At least for the early production ones

Hell yeah. Your gonna pay MSRP+ADM for a while after they are available. And if there is a limited V8 option? Your gonna get bent over and pay additionally! And that will continue for a long long time.

6.8 SC 800hp 8/12mpg in the Raptor LOL

Even a 6.8 NA motor in F-150’s is a 360 turn around from V6TT’s. Large cube motors in Mustangs? Until the announcements from Ford, I can’t bite into this one just yet.

Not saying a SC 6.8 and they never mentioned the raptor in particular but in terms of Ford building the 6.8 at Windsor seems legit based on this video.

If this is true it’s very interesting and may have an impact on the raptor.

It would be such a turn from what they are still doing in ‘21, and suddenly go with larger displacement V8’s. Even as an option it’s quite interesting.
