I recently purchased a 2008 toy hauler and have never really pulled trailers before especially with the raptor. I will be pulling it over a 5 day period and was wondering what kind of gas mileage you figure I will get it weighs in at about 7500 pounds. Btw it's going to be in about a week and a half.

I pulled 10.5 - 11 MPGs (70-75 MPH average) with a 6.2L Screw. I towed my H3 from Drummond Island, MI back to Plymouth, MI. Key is to get the tounge weight right, and use load distribution bars. I did not have the bars and the front end felt loose of floaty with a cross wind. I was probably closer to 8000 lbs between truck and trailer.

Most of the guys don't get more than a mile or two less per gallon while towing.

7.5-8.5mpg. All depends on your speed. 5mph will get you another mpg or so.

If you haven't towed before make sure your rig is set up correctly (don't know if you're going to use a weigh distribution hitch but I would assume you will) and then check it after towing it around town a bit to make sure everything is tight and in good shape before you take your long trip.

You'll also want to make sure your mirrors are set up right and you can see along both sides of the trailer. You may need towing mirrors which you can put on your Raptor.

Of course you'll want to be comfortable (safe!) with making your turns and staying in your lane, etc.

Trailer towing should never be taken lightly especially with a large and/or heavy trailer. Lots of things can happen when towing and you'll want to be cognizant of how the trailer handles when things are good so you know asap when something's amiss (like a low/flat tire or when you're dealing with crosswinds, etc.).

Sorry if I've told you what you already know. Be safe and enjoy the drive!

Good luck

Yeah I have the weight distributing set up. I am a little nervous towing something this big for my first trailer. Planned on staying in vegas longer but stuff happened at home. So gotta get home. Does this route look good? ScreenShot2013-03-16at114411PM_zpsde382e51.png
