Hard fold vs retractable tonneau

Been using the Backflip Revolver series since the original Roll-X. They are really good-rolls up can still see out of the back and has full bed usage. Really good keeping things dry too. I throw surfboards and windsurfers in the back for shorter trips so need the full bed. Retrax now can add Yakima rails which has me thinking but man is it expensive!

Thanks for the info. Any idea if this issue would be prevented if the retrax was rolled up during hard off road driving? I offroad my rig quite aggressively from time to time and this post worries me.

I wouldn’t recommend it. I had one of the latches break off. It’s plastic.

FWIW - I've had the BAK G2 on my 2012 Raptor since new. The only water that gets in is from the bottom edge gap of the tailgate due to spray at freeway speeds. Holding up really well!
