I have to put a plate on the front. I noticed Ford put it right in front of the intercooler. I assume they accounted for this, but my brain seems to think different..lol. Anyway, I was looking at 2 kits. The first drills into the skid plate, but really don't want to do that. The second clamps on to the grill. I'm concerned if the plate gets hit it will break the grill. Or should I just scrap all of it and put it on where ford wants? Thanks

I bought a cheap kit that clamps to the tow hook. Swarfworks makes an expensive version, but they bend easily, so I figured I might as well cheap out. If it fails, I’ll be drilling holes in the bumper to one side of the intercooler grill. Probably should have just done that, but I got lazy.

I’d just mount the top of the license plate to the top of the skid plate and bend the license plate so it mostly faced the ground. Anyone says something, you say you bent it off road, so sorry. I’m not blocking the intercooler for a stupid law.
