So I was trying to take @jzweedyk to see the old truck buried in the wash but the Trail was blocked :(
I posted last week about the instability of the Sandstone and Mud Mountains out this way and this is another great example. Once they get enough moisture they can’t carry their own weight anymore. We could have tried to create a bypass to the collapse but it would have taken a considerable amount of time and most likely Rubber (see I got SHANKED IN THE DESERT)
A wise old friend of mine told me before he passed away ( RIP NEIL) if you want to try going Off-Trail out here, you better be carrying 4 spares ;)
No worries though, we left the collapse and headed to The Desert SandCastle, the next post after this one…795E5A3E-07C1-42D8-8E05-C83C12AB77DA.jpeg9D9F640A-AFCF-4FD9-A67F-CC6E8C25A1CF.jpeg051FB694-22B4-4F10-9515-F23C55B2B780.jpegEFA64F9B-EE12-448B-B4C0-CE01CC615655.jpegC1947BD7-B1B5-48E4-80A8-F338595192DD.jpeg

You didn’t have the gear to move these rocks? I thought you said you were always prepared?!?!
Ummm we did but we wouldn’t have finished until today. Did I mention I have a bad-back. I can no longer dead lift 200# rocks :banana-mario::banana-mario:
I could have used the 5# Hammer to break it into smaller rocks, but that would bring Flash-backs from the Dime I did in the State-Pen…:grd:2435F87F-F994-46FB-8E37-32164AFE4F98.jpegBD5CBFC4-B422-4766-89F3-E7562B287D9F.jpegBF270D62-CB52-4AF4-96B4-027DDAFBED22.jpeg389178A0-A810-4570-ACBD-5E1783BDC814.jpeg7B1E34AA-D9AC-4674-B37B-2918BE04B55A.jpeg
